One person was airlifted to hospital in serious condition Tuesday morning following a workplace incident in Ladysmith.

BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) said it received a call at 11 a.m. about a fall near Esplanade Avenue and Buller Street in Ladysmith.

Three paramedic crews and an air ambulance went to the scene. BC EHS said paramedics cared for one patient before airlifting them to hospital in serious condition.

WorkSafeBC has confirmed it was notified at approximately 11:30 a.m. about a serious workplace incident in Ladysmith.

According to WorkSafeBC, “preliminary information was that the incident involved a fall from height.”

A WorkSafeBC Prevention Officer is at the site.

No other information about the incident has been released.
