One person was taken to hospital with unknown injuries Wednesday afternoon after a crash on the Old Island Highway (Highway 19A).
The crash occurred just after 3:45 p.m. between a minivan and an SUV at the Old Island Highway, and Bowen Road, and Norwell Drive intersection.
Police said witnesses reported the driver in the minivan was going north when it collided with the SUV. The minivan travelled for some distance before coming to a rest.
The driver of the minivan fled the scene but police said they found her a short distance away. The male driver of the SUV was taken to hospital.

Traffic was diverted around the area following the collision.
