Police officers from all over Canada and the United States are in Victoria for a full departmental funeral Thursday for constable Ian Jordan.

Jordan passed away April 11 after more than 30 years of being in a coma following a collision between two police cruisers responding to the same call in September 1987.

Jordan is survived by his wife Hilary and son Mark who was only 16-months-old at the time.

A marching procession will begin at 12:30 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre and head east on Caledonia Avenue and then south on Quadra Street.

The marching contingent will then meet with the funeral party at Christ Church Cathedral for the service, which is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

For those who wish to view the procession, Victoria police ask you line the route on Quadra Street.

Police advise the streets of the route will be closed for the duration of the procession and will be reopened as it moves through and anticipate traffic to be affected for about 45 minutes.

Temporary video cameras have been put in place to support police operations.
