The Capital Regional district has issued an odour advisory for Mount Work Regional Park in the Saanich area.
The odour advisory is in effect from March 27 to April 17. During this time, crews will be conducting routine maintenance at the Residuals Treatment facility in the Hartland Landfill.
The maintenance is “likely to generate intermittent odours near the facility,” according to the CRD, which may reach areas of Mount Work Regional Park, as well as Willis Point Road.
“Facility operators and CRD staff are making every effort to limit the source and impact of the odours and will continue to monitor the odours as work proceeds,” said the regional district in a notice Wednesday.
The CRD adds that it’s grateful for the patience of local residents and park users as the work takes place.
