Three people were arrested Tuesday as officers searched two units of a suspected drug house in Parksville.

According to police on July 10, a 29-year-old Parksville man of no fixed address was arrested after he left a residence in the 300-block of Island Highway West in Parksville. Police said he was found with suspected heroin and suspected meth that he allegedly bought from someone inside the residence.

A search warrant authored by Oceanside RCMP was then executed at two units at the same address. Police entered the home at 7:30 p.m. and found nine people inside the two residences.

Two men aged 27 and 39 were arrested. Police said they were in possession of drugs. Scales, packaging materials and cash were also seized.

One man was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 9 and another was held in custody. He appeared in court on Wednesday. Police have not released the men’s names.

Police said the search warrant was obtained after a lengthy investigation, which included surveillance.

We received several complaints about this drug house which led to our ability to obtain a search warrant to enter the home. I would like to thank the citizens for their efforts, Sgt. Pelletier from Oceanside RCMP said in a release.
