Oak Bay Police officers were called to an intruder report at a home on Thursday only to find a feathered suspect staring right back at them.
Officers responded to the Beach Drive home at 4 a.m. to discover an owl perched on a couch, where it was captured on camera greeting them with a wink.
After some coaxing, the intruder “casually walked outside through open patio doors and flew away,” according to police in a tweet.
Police say no animals or officers were injured.
