Northbound traffic has been closed down on Highway 19 following a vehicle incident near Parksville.
The crash involved a vehicle and cyclist and took place just before 6 p.m. on Sunday evening along Highway 19, just past the Highway 19A Junction.
BC Ambulance took the cyclist to a hospital.
Major delays are expected and DriveBC is advising that drivers find an alternate route.
An assessment of the crash scene is underway as investigators determined what happened.
It is also unclear how long the northbound lanes will remain closed.
