Nootka Sound RCMP seek missing man last seen in Strathcona Provincial Park

Christopher Jensen, 30, was last seen at Crest Mountain on May 2. Nootka Sound RCMP say he failed to return home following a planned hike on the mountain with friends.

Vancouver Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 30-year-old man who failed to return home from a planned hike.

Christopher Jensen, 30, was last seen at Crest Mountain, which is located within Strathcona Provincial Park, on May 2.

According to the Nootka Sound RCMP, Jensen failed to return home after a planned hike on the mountain with his friends and Campbell River Search and Rescue is assisting with the search effort.

“We are asking anyone who was hiking in the area or may have picked up a hitchhiker on Highway 28 between Gold River and Campbell River to please contact the Nootka Sound RCMP,” Sgt. Kim Rutherford of the Nootka Sound RCMP said in a press release.

Jensen is described as a 30-year-old male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 6’2 in height and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black ball cap, black pants and black work boots.

Anyone with information regarding Jensen’s location is asked to contact the Nootka Sound RCMP at 250-283-2227 and cite file 2021-272.
