People flying from the Comox Valley Airport to Toronto this summer will be able to get there faster.

The airport announced today the return of WestJet’s non-stop summer service to Toronto.

“Non-stop service really benefits visitors travelling between Canada’s largest city and our community, bringing Toronto within mere hours of our airport,” Comox Valley Airport CEO Mike Atkins said in a media release. “We expect this summer to be a very busy one, and I encourage travellers to book early to ensure the best fares and route options.”

In addition to multiple daily options to access WestJet’s network, Air Canada’s summer schedule has also increased, with additional flights to Vancouver and across North America.

“We are fortunate to enjoy increased service from both of our main carriers again this summer,” Atkins added. “More frequency provides better connections, helping travellers on their way swiftly to worldwide destinations.”

This is also the first summer the Comox Valley Airport will have café service in the passenger lounge, providing food and drinks for purchase post-security.

WestJet’s non-stop service to Toronto will take off on Saturdays, starting June 24th.
