No injuries after explosion in Victoria apartment building

Victoria police say there were no injuries after an explosion at an apartment building on Gorge Road East.

Victoria police and the Victoria Fire Department were called to an apartment building in the 200-block of Gorge Road East just after 1:30 p.m. Friday.

When police arrived, they found the windows at one of the units was blown out. Victoria firefighters determined there was not a fire and no one was injured.

VicPD officers found a man at the location who was wanted on outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody. But police said his arrest Friday is not directly linked to the explosion.

Police are still investigating the explosion.
