Saanich Fire says a fire was sparked in a daycare Thursday afternoon, but all occupants had exited by the time firefighters arrived.
The fire happened in the 4300-block of West Saanich Road around 4:30 p.m.
Officials said flames were confined to the kitchen area by two sprinklers and was extinguished.
There were no injuries.
The fire started in the Child Daycare area. Confined to the kitchen by 2 activated sprinkler heads. No injuries. Crews still on scene, ventilation complete. Dealing with minor water damage.

Saanich Police says traffic was severely affected because of emergency vehicles on the scene on West Saanich Road, Royal Oak Drive, the Quadra Street off-ramp, Glanford Avenue and on the Pat Bay Highway.
Fire officials said there was minor water damage.
