The North Saanich Fire Department was called to the blaze on East Saanich Road just after 2 a.m. Sunday.

No one was injured following a fire inside a building in North Saanich.

Firefighters from the North Saanich Fire Department were called to the blaze on East Saanich Road just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, according to the department.

It says the fire “was contained to an accessory building.”

A firefighter tells CHEK News the fire, a room-and-contents fire, was in or around the 8900 block.

“Nobody injured,” they said. “Mainly, things were burning in the room, but (the fire) didn’t get into the structure.”

The North Saanich Volunteer Firefighters Association took to Facebook later Sunday to thank crews from Sidney Fire and Central Saanich Fire for providing mutual aid.

The cause is unknown at this time, but an investigation is underway.
