Firefighters made quick work of a car fire in a parking lot just off the Island Highway in Cumberland Monday morning.
The car was in a lot just off the Comox Valley Parkway offramp when it burst into flames.
Crews from Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department were called at around 7:05 a.m. and arrived to a fully involved vehicle.
Flames were starting to reach nearby cars but firefighters extinguished the blaze “really quick,” said Cumberland Deputy Fire Chief Stephane Dionne.
A witness told CHEK News the car on fire appeared to be a Nissan Xterra.
Nine people from the department responded. There were no injuries in the incident.
A cause has not yet been determined but Dionne said the blaze is under investigation by Comox Valley RCMP.
