Victoria MMA fans are gearing up for one of the biggest events of the year taking place at Pearkes Arena tomorrow night.
“No Guts No Glory” has transformed into one of the biggest MMA events on the island, and today was weigh-in day for the fighters at the Shark Club Bar and Grill.
Campbell River fighter Chase Ingalls is in the main event fighting for a world kickboxing title against Andrew Weber, and he says this event is huge for growing the sport on the island.
“What I hope it means for the local scene is to get the sports name known to get the local fighters known and just get more coverage for the sport itself,” Ingalls says, “especially because there’s a huge fan base here, and all we can do is showcase it right, that’s important and I hope that’s what happens with these events by doing these events, these guys as well as the sport just gets more known.”
You can catch the event tomorrow night at Pearkes Arena, doors open at 6:00pm and the action begins at 6:30pm.
