The last person facing charges in connection with a drive-by shooting in Sooke that sent two men to hospital and sparked a multi-day police manhunt nearly two years ago has been found not guilty.

Two men were shot and injured on Ella Road in Sooke in June 2016. The shooting triggered a significant police operation as dozens of heavily-armed officers spent days hunting for two of the suspects.

Police said it was a targeted attack involving rival groups known to each other and known to police.

Three men were eventually charged in connection with the shooting. Last week, the final man facing charges, 25-year-old Joshua Nicholas Lafleur, was found not guilty of discharging a restricted weapon. He was convicted of various weapons and drug charges.

Last year, another accused was also convicted of various weapons and drug charges. Charges were previously stayed against the other accused man.
