Saanich Police said no one has been charged after a road rage incident in Saanich Tuesday afternoon was captured on camera.

According to acting Sgt. Jereme Leslie from the Saanich Police, the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Ravine Way between the north and south lanes of Blanshard Street/Highway 17. Police received multiple 911 calls about a fight in the parking lot of Saanich Plaza.

“From what we can gather, these two individuals got into a fight over possibly something that happened on the roadway earlier on,” Leslie said.

“Both individuals aren’t really willing to tell us the full details of what exactly transpired to end up in this fight.”

Leslie said both men seen in the video do not want any charges laid and do not want police involved.

“It appears as if they’ve been in a consensual fight with one another.”

He described a consensual fight as an encounter where two individuals wish to be in the fight and are allowed to proceed, as long as it doesn’t go too far.

Leslie said no one was injured in the fight and the two men drove away from the scene.

“There was a number of witnesses that came forward to our officers. There’s a number of different videos that have been provided to our officers and a number of statements that we gathered as well,” Leslie said.
