Environment Canada issued a new snowfall warning for Greater Victoria, Malahat, East Vancouver Island including Duncan and Nanaimo, and the Southern Gulf Islands early Thursday morning.
The agency says total amounts of 5 to 10 cm of snow can be expected but some areas may see rain as well.
“Arctic air is still in place over the area this morning but a trend towards slightly milder conditions will occur through the afternoon and temperatures are expected to remain near the freezing mark tonight.”
Environment Canada says to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
