As of Friday evening the Nanaimo-Ladysmith riding has a new MP.

NDP’s Lisa Marie Barron winning her first term with 19,896 votes, ahead of Conservative Tamara Kronis who received 18,615 votes.

Paul Manley of the Green Party, who has been the riding’s incumbent candidate, finished third with 17,640 votes. Michelle Corfield of the Liberals with 9,340 and Stephen Welton of the People’s Party if Canada ended with 3,385.

“Overall I am really looking forward to getting to work, I’m hoping that we’ll be able to get started in parliament here in a couple of weeks and getting to work on behalf of the people here in Nanaimo-Ladysmith,” Barron said Friday night over Zoom after the victory was confirmed.
