The three other acts from Vancouver Island that are participating in this year’s season of Canada’s Got Talent all hail from Victoria and include comedian Maninder Waraich, musician and singer Holly Melville, and “novelty” comedy performer Brad Gooseberry.

The grand prize for this season of the talent show is $1 million, the largest cash prize in Canadian television history, according to media company Rogers.

Anyone who receives a “golden buzzer” during the show will also be given a $25,000 award, Rogers said in a release Tuesday.

The season kicks off on March 19 with hosts Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh, Trish Stratus and Kardinal Offishall, and it’s set to wrap on May 14.
