Nanaimo RCMP is asking the public to keep an eye out for a wanted man who skipped multiple court dates.

Police are searching for 31-year-old Jordan Mackie, who is accused of stealing a truck and then setting it on fire alongside another suspect.

The incident occurred in November 2023, when police say Mackie and another person stole a truck and trailer from a landscaping company.

The pair then drove the truck to a remote location and set it ablaze, according to Nanaimo RCMP.

Mackie and the other suspect fled the area on foot but were tracked down by a police dog.

Mackie was charged with arson, possession of stolen property and theft over $5,000.

He appeared in Nanaimo Provincial Court after he was arrested, but since then he has missed several court appearances, according to RCMP.

Mounties say a warrant has now been issued for his arrest.

The other accused person is still before the courts, police said in a release Tuesday.

Mackie is described as a Caucasian man who stands 5’9” tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. The picture of him is considered recent.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.

None of the allegations against Mackie have been proven in court.
