Nanaimo RCMP search for information on a stolen vehicle believed linked to targeted killing

Nanaimo RCMP is seeking information on a silver 2002 Audi S6 station wagon, which is believed to have been used in the targeted shooting death.

The body of 34-year old Troy Dax McKinnon was found just before 11 a.m. in the parking lot of Hawthorne Corner Apartments at Wakesiah Avenue and Second Street.

McKinnon was known to police.

The silver Audi was reported stolen from the Lower Mainland.

Sometime between Jan. 3 and Jan. 12, it was driven to Vancouver Island onboard a BC ferry.

Police investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who may recall seeing this vehicle or its occupants.
