Police don’t suspect speeding but are trying to determine what led to a crash that saw the driver of one of the vehicles involved run a red light and her car slammed into a house.

Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nanaimo RCMP says a vehicle was travelling east on Second Street when the driver ran the red at Wakesiah Avenue.

Her car hit another vehicle going through a green light, then went through a fence and hit a house.

One of the home owners and their four-year-old daughter were in the back yard and were not hurt.

The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

Investigators believe the home was not structurally damaged.

Their investigation into the crash continues.
