Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating 19-year-old Kelsie Boutilier.

Police say reports have been made that Boutilier has been seen at Tent City, but she hasn’t been seen by her family since July 7. Police say family is concerned because Boutilier requires daily medication, which she doesn’t have with her and hasn’t taken for the near two weeks she’s been missing.

Police say Boutilier’s support network believes she is hiding from her family because she’s under the impression police want to arrest her. However, Nanaimo RCMP say this isn’t true.

“We want to assure Kelsie and her friends that she is not in trouble and she will not be arrested. We just want to touch base with her family to let them know she is safe,” said Const. Gary O’Brien.

Boutilier is described by police as a white 5’6″ (168 cm), 105 pounds (48 kg) with brown hair and green eyes. She also has ear-stretching hoops and a piercing near her right eye. She was last seen wearing shorts and a black hoodie.

Police are asking anyone who knows of Boutilier to call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or if you wish to remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com or call 1-800-222-8477.
