Nanaimo police looking to ID robbery suspect

Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to identify one of two men who allegedly stole money from a Nanaimo business. (RCMP).

RCMP are asking the public to help identify a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery in Nanaimo last week.

According to police, at around 4:45 pm. on Oct. 16 two men entered Claytree Enterprises at 838 Victoria Road. Employees told police the men started a conversation with one of them.

While that employee was distracted, one of the men allegedly walked around the counter and took a pouch with an undisclosed amount of money. He then allegedly stuffed it inside his jacket and walked out of the business.

The other man also left the business. Police said the two suspects were seen getting into a white vehicle.

Police said the robbery was only confirmed after video surveillance was reviewed and they could see that the pouch was taken.

Nanaimo RCMP have released a photo of one of the suspects. He is described by police as a man in his mid-20s, approximately 5’9,”w with a medium build and short dark hair.
