A crash involving multiple vehicles led to major delays on the Malahat Sunday.
Shawnigan Lake RCMP said the crash occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway past McCurdy Drive before the Malahat summit, just before 4 p.m. According to RCMP, there are five vehicles involved in the collision.
By 5 p.m., firefighters were cleaning up the scene and traffic was moving slowly in both directions. Drive BC said there would be heavy delays and congestion due to the collision.

However, by 5:30 p.m., some drivers heading north and south reported that traffic was still at a standstill or was barely moving at all. The highway had been closed for a short amount of time as the vehicles involved in the crash were moved off the highway.
Officials said some of the people involved in the collision were taken to hospital.
