Motorist in Oak Bay fined nearly $600 for driving without insurance

A motorist in Oak Bay was hit with a nearly $600 fine for driving without insurance.

According to an Oak Bay Police Department press release, an officer was out on patrol in the 2000-block of Cadboro Bay Road on Nov. 27 when they spotted a vehicle with an expired decal.

The officer stopped the motorist and performed a records check, which confirmed that the vehicle was not insured, the release notes.

As a result, the motorist was issued a $598 ticket for driving without insurance while the vehicle was towed from the scene.
