Victoria’s Save-on-Foods Centre will soon become a Monster Truck arena.

The ice the Victoria Royals skated on Thursday night was covered with plywood and 70 truckloads of sand by Friday morning.

“This year we’ve got some of the most powerful monster trucks in the world here,” says Traxxas Monster Truck Tour announcer,Brett Mason. “We’ve got five trucks, extreme FMX, this is freestyle motor cross, these guys are gonna be doing acrobatics on two wheels.”

Bill Payne has been performing with his monster truck for 15 years.

“We’ve done quads, we’ve done roller coaster, skydiving… there’s nothing that gives you the all-around excitement that monster trucks [give].”
