The ridge of high pressure that has kept skies clear over Vancouver Island is gradually breaking down.

That will allow a low pressure system to slide over the Island from the central coast, bringing increasing cloud later Tuesday evening, and rain to many regions of the Island Wednesday.

Rain is expected as far south as Nanaimo, but the southern tip of the island, at this point, is expected to remain dry.

Thursday, back to a mix of sun and cloud.

Temperatures will remain seasonal, with daytime highs from 18 to 22, and overnight lows from 8 to 11 degrees.
