Missing Sidney/North Saanich man’s vehicle found by Sooke RCMP

The vehicle of a missing man from the Sidney/North Saanich region was found down an embankment by Sooke RCMP on the same day he was last heard from.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP say 36-year-old Vincent Olsen’s 2016 blue Buick Verano was spotted near Sombrio Beach last Monday afternoon unoccupied.

Police say Olsen sent text messages and a picture of himself to an ex-girlfriend, showing injuries believed to be from the crash, and taken in a different vehicle.

Investigators hope to speak to the person who picked Olsen up after the crash, or anyone who has information on his location or well-being.
