A Victoria-based medical supply company is offering free hand sanitizer to organizations in need within the Capital Regional District.

LAH Sourcing Ltd/Rhino Work Boutique has announced that it will be distributing 1L bottles of hand sanitizer for free in an effort to step up and help businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We know that there are organizations doing vital work and we wanted to help out,” commented Ryan Painter, President of LAH Sourcing Ltd/Rhino Work Boutique. “We’ve got the stock available and really wanted to provide it for those who are digging in and supporting our communities.”

According to the company, the hand sanitizer – which has been approved by Health Canada – is bottled in Victoria.

LAH/Rhino says the free sanitizer will be distributed to businesses “working on the front lines, as well organizations that support diverse communities.”

The medical supply company says it is hoping to give bottles of hand sanitizer to organizations working with youth, seniors, the homeless, people with disabilities, local Indigenous communities and the LGBTQ community.

LAH/Rhino says that organizations can submit requests for up to five cases or 96 bottles of hand sanitizer.

Peers Victoria Resource Society, Saanich Neighbourhood Place, the Saanich Police Department and the Victoria Police Department have already had bottles dropped off at their locations, according to LAH/Rhino.

“It’s more important now more than ever, especially as we look at the case count across the country, that we do everything we can to support those working to assist our diverse communities on the South Island,” added Painter.

The organization notes that they currently have over 11,000 bottles available in Victoria and supplies will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
