Brentwood Bay’s Matt Irwin was never drafted to an NHL team. He was cut by junior teams as a teenager and always pictured himself eventually working as a police officer when his hockey dream officially died. But the dream lives on, and the ultimate hockey achievement nearly came to fruition this past spring in what was one of the most memorable NHL Stanley Cup Final runs in recent history.
