Victoria Police say a man suffered significant burns after an unknown woman kicked him to the ground, causing him to spill tea on himself.

The man was walking in a crosswalk at Fort and Blanshard streets when the woman approached him around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to police, she kicked the man to the ground and the force of the kick caused him to spill his tea, causing significant burns.

The man went to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries related to the burns.

The suspect left the scene.

She is described as an adult Caucasian woman with a thin build. She wore a grey hooded sweater with the hood up, a green sweatshirt, green sweatpants, sneakers with a yellow marking, and a black backpack.

Police say that anyone who recognizes the woman or has not spoken with investigators should call non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654, extension 1, or Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to report anonymously.
