Victoria Police have released that a man has suffered serious injuries after he was assaulted with a weapon in Victoria.
The incident took place on Monday, March 16 at approximately 2:30 pm. VicPD officers said they responded to a call at a multi-unit residential building, located in the 3000-block of Douglas Street located near Finlayson.
Officers said they received a report that a man was injured after being assaulted with a weapon. The man had suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital immediately. According to officials, he is still receiving medical care.
At this time, police are reporting that the suspect in the file is still outstanding, however, investigators believe that the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
With that belief, police have claimed that this was an isolated incident and investigators do not believe that there is a risk to public safety.
This file currently remains under investigation.
