One person has been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in downtown Victoria.
The incident happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 500-block of Yates Street, at or near Lucky Bar.
According to the Victoria Police Department, when officers arrived, they found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries and provided emergency first aid.
The man was eventually transported by paramedics to hospital, where he later died.
A male suspect was arrested by officers at around 2 a.m. and remains in custody, police say.
Detectives with VicPD’s Major Crimes unit, along with officers from VicPD’s Forensic Identification Services, were on scene collecting evidence Tuesday.
However, VicPD says, VIIMCU assumed conduct of the homicide investigation.
