The 52-year-old man arrested after a series of armed robberies in Saanich has been identified and has made his first court appearance.

Randall Mincer, 52, is facing three counts of robbery in connection with armed robberies at two convenience stores and a bank in a five-day span.

Saanich police said early in the morning on Saturday, May 25, the 7-Eleven at 10 Burnside Road West was robbed. A man entered the store, took out a gun and demanded money from an employee. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

On Sunday morning at around 4:30 a.m., a man and a woman approached two employees behind the store counter at the 7-Eleven at 3775 Carey Road. One of the suspects held a gun while the pair demanded money. The two suspects took off with cash and cigarettes.

Then at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the TD Bank at 309 Burnside Road West was robbed. Police said that a red dye pack was activated by the suspect when he left the bank.

Mincer was arrested on Thursday in downtown Victoria. He made his first court appearance on Friday afternoon.

Police are still looking for the woman involved in the second 7-Eleven robbery. Anyone with information regarding this woman is asked to call police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
