Salt Spring Island RCMP arrested a man involved in an altercation where witnesses reported a handgun appeared to be pointed at another man.
RCMP responded to a report of two men arguing on the Ganges Centennial Docks, in the 100-block of Fulford Ganges Road on Aug. 19.
Police say a witness quickly called 911 and provided a detailed description of the suspect who produced what appeared to be a handgun, and the male was located by RCMP a short distance from the dock.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and officers located and seized a replica pellet handgun in a search.
There were no injuries to either male in the incident.
Salt Spring RCMP says charges of uttering threats and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose are recommended.
The suspect is due to appear in Salt Spring court on Nov. 19.
