The BC Ministry of Transportation announced Friday night that the Malahat at Tunnel Hill has reopened to two-way traffic.
Repair work is continuing after that location of the Malahat was badly damaged by Monday’s torrential rain.
On Thursday, overnight closures that were planned until next week ended as the Malahat was reopened to single-lane alternating traffic.
Tonight, traffic was moving in both directions at Tunnel Hill around 8 p.m.

The province says drivers should be prepared for construction conditions, including no median barrier, narrow lanes, limited shoulder widths and reduced speed zones.
Additional repairs to fully restore the site will continue for the coming months, meaning some single-lane alternating traffic and sporadic closures.
