Memorabilia belonging to a longtime B.C. boxing coach were stolen from a parked car in Nanaimo, according to police.

Police said the items, including two championship belts, were taken sometime overnight on Sept. 9

According to police, Bob Pegues had parked his vehicle in the parking lot of Rosedale Manor apartment, in the 4000-block of Departure Bay Road. He realized his vehicle had been broken into in the morning.

Pegues had recently moved to Nanaimo from Prince George after running a boxing gym in that city for 20 years.

The stolen items are:

  • brown leather soft sided bag (picture provided)
  •  Four pair of boxing gloves
  •  A blue coloured BC Boxing Team jacket with “coach” on the lapel and BC Boxing on the back (picture provided)
  •  Four boxing trophies
  •  Two championship belts, one of which weighs 25 pounds (picture provided of one belt)
