Lengthy delays expected along Interurban Road in Saanich after cement truck overturns

Lengthy traffic delays are expected along Interurban Road in Saanich after a commercial vehicle overturned onto its side.

Saanich Police say the incident, involving a Ralmax cement truck, occurred near the intersection of Interurban and Marigold roads.

Police are currently on scene and Saanich PD says that no one was injured as part of the vehicle incident.

Despite no injuries, police are anticipating “lengthy delays” until the crash is cleared.

“We expect to be on scene for several hours, as special equipment will be required to remove the commercial vehicle,” says Saanich Police.

Police note that traffic northbound along Interurban is still moving, however, on-scene officers are diverting traffic southbound at Violet Avenue.

Authorities are asking drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area if possible.
