Latest: Reserved traffic moving normally from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen

8:34 – BC Ferries says reserved traffic is moving normally for the Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen route.

The company reported just before 8:30 a.m the 9 a.m. sailing is 85 per cent full.

8:11 – BC Ferries is reporting the Queen of Cumberland vessel, operating between Swartz Bay and the Southern Gulf Islands, is running 25-minutes behind schedule.

The cause is power outages on the Gulf Islands.

Original Story: More delays reported this morning by BC Ferries because of high winds on the south coast causing sailing disruptions.

The 5:15 a.m. sailing from Duke Point to Tsawwassen is delayed 75 minutes because of adverse weather.

The Port of Coquitlam was held in dock until just after 6:10 a.m. before resuming sailings.

With high traffic volumes and power outages, the sailing operating between Swartz Bay and the Southern Gulf Islands is running 21 minutes behind.
