The last two fireworks Saturday shows at Butchart Gardens have been cancelled due to the fire risk and the provincial state of emergency.
B.C. declared a state of emergency on Aug. 18 due to the wildfires occurring around the province and the number of people who had to evacuate as a result.

Butchart Gardens had previously cancelled its Aug. 19 fireworks show as a result of the state of emergency, then on Aug. 24 pulled the plus on the remaining two.
The Aug. 26 and Sept. 2 fireworks, which were the last two of the season, will be cancelled.
On those days, the gardens will be open until 11 p.m., and there will be musical performances at 8 p.m. by the Chris Millington Band on Aug. 26 and Backbeat on Sept. 2.
“We thank everyone who has supported us this season,” the gardens said in a Facebook post. “On these dates, 12 Month passes are valid all day as there are no Firework Shows.”
