Lake Cowichan residents elect Bob Day as town’s new mayor

The Town of Lake Cowichan has a new mayor.

Residents narrowly elected former longtime councillor Bob Day as the town’s new mayor in a byelection held Oct. 24.

Preliminary results show Day edging out former mayor Ross Forrest by just 19 votes. Final results are pending.

A byelection was triggered in Lake Cowichan after the town’s former mayor Rod Peters stepped down earlier this year.
