A holiday season tradition is set to brighten the streets of Ladysmith Thursday.
The 31st annual Ladysmith Light Up will see festivities begin at 3 p.m. with a community spaghetti dinner at Eagles Hall.
There will be a Christmas craft fair at Aggie Hall and on-stage and street entertainment get underway at 4 p.m.
Santa Claus will make an appearance downtown to Light Up Ladysmith, with the event kicking off to the six-week Festival of Lights.
The Kinsmen parade is scheduled to get started at 6:45 p.m. and run along First Avenue to Aggie Hall.
Festival organizers say First Avenue will be closed to traffic starting at 3 p.m. until the end of the Light Up.
People who plan to attend the event are also asked to not bring your pets downtown.
After the parade, there will be a fireworks show.
