Kenyan runner aims to make history at Goodlife Fitness Victoria Marathon

WATCH: With 36 hours until the race gets underway, some formalities were taken care of on Friday morning as a press conference was held for the 39th annual Goodlife Fitness Victoria Marathon.

On hand at the event was 31-year-old Kenyan runner Daniel Kipkoech, who is chasing history at this Sunday’s event. Kipkoech has run in the Victoria marathon four times. He’s won every single time. At four consecutive wins, Kipkoech is one win away from tying the record of most all-time wins at the Victoria Marathon, held by Kelvin Broad who won five consecutive races from 1994 through 1998.

For Kipkoech, who now calls Lethbridge home, it’s the Victoria sights and community that brings him back to the island every year.
