Rising Canadian artists will be the focus of a new music concert series coming to Vancouver Island.

Sidney’s Mary Winspear Centre is hosting a brand new concert series called Seaside Sessions beginning this weekend.

The concert series, which is a partnership project with Factor Canada, aims to showcase emerging and underrepresented Canadian music talent from a cross-section of genres.

Featured artists include Raquel Cole, Danielle Ryan, Kalsey Kulyk, FIONN, Desirée Dawson, Nice Horse, Hailey Benedict and The Heels and more artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Each performance will be filmed in 4K in front of a live audience and fans can experience a 45-minute recording on YouTube for free or purchase an extended 90-minute 4k edition online at the Seaside Sessions website. Proceeds from the downloads go directly to the artists.

Additionally, people have the opportunity to be in the audience for the taping of the Seaside Sessions this weekend at the Mary Winspear Centre that will air on CHEK later this fall.

FACTOR Canada is a non-profit dedicated to providing assistance toward the growth and development of the Canadian music industry. Seaside Sessions is designed to provide access to concert footage and other marketing materials the artists can use to further their careers in the music industry.
