Examples of three of the five jerseys Nanaimo RCMP says were stolen from the Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association office Wednesday night.

Nanaimo RCMP is asking for help tracking down stolen items, including five “unique” baseball jerseys, taken during a break and enter Wednesday night.

Investigators said the break-in happened sometime overnight at 380 Third Street in Nanaimo, where officers found a large hole in the drywall and provided access to the concession stand.

Police say the thieves pried open the office door and took cash, a Toshiba laptop, a red portable barbeque and five jerseys.

The jerseys were in an office of Nanaimo minor baseball employee Nick Holmes, previously a Major League Baseball scout.

Authorities say Holmes got the jerseys during his travels around the world scouting players.

The stolen jerseys include:

  • Royal blue Flor De Cana #3
  • Red Costa Rica #6
  • Black Sox #3 with HOLMES on the back
  • Royal blue Italia #3 mesh jersey
  • Grey Northwest jersey #3 with black and gold trim on the neck and sleeves

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Nanaimo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
