Winds ranging from 70-90 kilometers an hour are expected to hit B.C.’s coastline Monday as an ‘intense front’ makes its way south.
A wind warning has been issued for the west and east island, including the communities of Greater Victoria, Courtenay to Campbell River and Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay.
Environment Canada warns that loose objects may be tossed by the wind, and could cause injury or damage. The high winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
The winds are expected to kick off Monday afternoon, building into the evening, but then predicted to calm as the front moves inland overnight.
