Rescue personnel were at work in Metchosin on the ground and in the air Tuesday night, as someone got caught in a difficult location in the Sooke Hills Wilderness Park.
Metchosin Search and Rescue says it was assisting the BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) in the rescue on Sugarloaf Mountain.
Officials said the only way to get the person out of the location was with the use of a helicopter, with an ambulance waiting at a different location for the individual to be extracted.
Metchosin Fire also assisted in the rescue effort.
The person was reportedly injured when the call for help was made, and BCEHS says the individual was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries around 7:30 p.m.
