A 39-year-old man is facing charges after stealing $1,000 worth of home goods from the Langford Walmart Tuesday.

West Shore RCMP received a report of a theft around 7:40 p.m.

The witness said they watched a man leave the Walmart at 860 Langford Parkway without paying for a cart full of household items including an air fryer, coffee maker, vacuum, cookware and more.

Police said the suspect then loaded his vehicle up with the stolen goods and drove away.

The witness was able to give officers a detailed description of the suspect and vehicle.

RCMP located the vehicle within minutes.

The 39-year-old was arrested for theft under $5,000 and all the stolen product was recovered.

During the arrest, officers found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and the suspect was displaying signs of drug impairment.

The suspect failed a Standard Field Sobriety Test. The man was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and his vehicle was towed.
