An RHIB run aground in Cordova Bay on April 15, 2020.

A rigid-hulled inflatable boat ran aground in Cordova Bay Wednesday evening but there were no injuries, Maritime Forces Pacific said.

The incident was reported at Parker Beach at 3:30 p.m. on April 15.

Maritime Forces Pacific confirmed Thursday night it was aware that HMCS Calgary’s rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) ran aground at low tide. It had been out as part of a training exercise.

According to Maritime Forces Pacific, none of the crew aboard were injured, there was no environmental spill and it appears there was no damage to the RHIB. The RHIB was floated with the tide.

We appreciate the many wonderful photos of the RHIB we have seen today and remember to be calm, be kind and be safe… and wash your hands,” Martimine Forces Pacific said in a statement.
